Going Through the Fire 🔥🔥🔥

It’s always hottest or should I say the roughest and toughest of times right before breakthrough to our blessings or promises. The perfect example of this process is a two or three year old toddler at daycare or with a babysitter, they’re clingy at first and may put up a fuss in the beginning about the separation between them and the parent(s) but as time goes on and they continue in the care of the provider they gradually become more and more confident that they are safe and their parents have not forgotten about them.

That’s exactly how it is as we go through the process of prayer waiting on what we prayed for. We pray for something and then there’s the waiting process, at first we’re like yes, God will came through! Then other times it’s like okay..where are you God? Please don’t pass me by!

It is at this point that the fire is turned up because the wait is grooming and preparing us for what we prayed for. It’s tough to hold on sometimes without a few complaints we feel like at this point God must have forgotten about us. In these times I like to lean on 2 Bible verses in particular

Pray without ceasing.

1 Thess. 5:17

Take pleasure in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Entrust your ways to the Lord. Trust him and he will act on your behalf.

Psalm 37:4,5

Be encouraged. God has NOT forgotten about you.

1 Corinthians 1:9

During the transitions of forming new norms for everyday life, society has been affected in every way possible but God has remained consistently faithful to His word. It may not feel, look or sound good but it is for your good (Romans 8:28).

I am so excited for the holidays to come this year for so many reasons but despite the reasons I’d rather enjoy them at home, safe and healthy talking to family and friends throughout the day on Zoom than having a family reunion on Christmas in the ICU.

Peace of Mind

For a lot of people 2020 has definitely been a year of uncertainty and concern with the Coronavirus pandemic, the US 2020 presidential election and civil unrest happening in several countries right now. The world is fueled by selfishness and enemies are made because of who you vote for, what church you go to, the color of your skin, etc.

But isn’t it good to know that there is peace (of mind) in Jesus!??

God’s peace, which goes above anything we could imagine guards our hearts and minds from worry, anxiety and fear when we pray and worship God.

Psalm 91

1 ¶ He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; norfor the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 No evil shall happen to you, Neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.

11 ¶ For he will give his angels charge over you, To guard you in all your ways.

12 They will bear you up in their hands, So that you won’t dash your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot.

14 ¶ “Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name.

15 He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
